 2021 LOFOTEN ISLANDS ITINERARY:

The weather conditions in the Lofoten islands can’t be predicted. Thus, the workshop is flexible since it we’ll be adjusted according to the weather and the clear skies to chase solar storms and take safety as our number one priority. However, our schedule will be the following and we’ll adapt to the changes:

Day 1 & 2

The photography workshop starts at Svolaer Airport (SVJ) which is located within the Lofoten islands.

We’ll be waiting for you to take you to an amazing waterfront villa in Ballstad where we’ll spend the next 6 days. We’ll have a hot coffee and we’ll introduce ourselves. Ballstad is an amazing little fishing village that has many photographic opportunities. We’ll explore this beautiful village and we’ll shoot the sunset there and after a good dinner we’ll go out to chase the northern lights.

On day 2 we’ll wake up early enough to catch the first light of the day at the Haukland beach.

After this we’ll have a good breakfast at our lodge and we’ll continue to Ramberg to shoot the well known cottage alone in the snow-covered landscape. We’ll head to an amazing scenic bridge to take some moody pictures and we’ll continue to Nusfjord to capture the sunset. Flakstad beach is undoubtedly one one of the best beaches for the northern lights, thus it will be our spot for the night’s chase.

Day 3 & 4

During our third day we’ll explore Moskenesøya. We’ll shoot the sunrise at Hamnoy and we’ll scout this amazing island.

Our next destination is Reine which is a remarkable little fishing village worth spending hours to photograph. We’ll shoot the sunset there and if the skies are clear we’ll shoot the horn of the Lofoten islands under the northern lights.

Day 4 : The sunrise at Henningsvaer is a must during our stay at the Lofoten islands. This stunning little fishing village gives spectacular photographic opportunities and it has one of the most scenic football fields you have ever seen.

The workshop is also aiming to teach you how to process an image. Therefore before our northern lights chase we’ll see together photoshop and lightroom techniques to make the most out of our shots.

Day 5

Reine is amazing at the sunrise where the first light of the day hits the stunning snow-covered peaks of the huge mountains.

So we’ll wake up early enough to catch the blue hour and the sunrise there. Of course we cannot leave the islands without exploring Å which is the end of the road and the last village of the Lofoten islands. This will be our last night in the Lofoten so we’ll rest in order to chase the northern lights for a last time and maximise our chances to see them.

Day Finale

We’ll wake up and shoot the last sunrise, for this workshop, at the Uttakiev beach.

After that we’ll eat a good breakfast at our lodge and head to the Svolaer airport where this landscape photography workshop ends.
